SPECIALISING IN ADMINISTERING BOTULINUM TOXIN FOR SPASTICITY

Dr. Joshua Collingwood is a Rehabilitation Medicine Physician who draws upon a lifelong interest in exercise physiology and training, and previous careers as an elite road racing cyclist and clinical cardiopulmonary exercise physiologist.

Josh has recently taken up a role with Grampians Health and will work at Novar with BallaratOSM, as well as outreach work to the Western Districts.

He has an interest in Botulinum Neurotoxin for the treatment of neurological and musculoskeletal disorders.

Focal muscle stiffness, pain and cramps can be a sign of post stroke spasticity. Spasticity is a common complication of early and late stroke, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, hereditary spastic paraplegia, spina bifida and cerebral palsy. Ultrasound guided botulinum toxin injections can treat spasticity impacting on hand hygiene, perineal hygiene, upper limb function, gait, and pain.

Josh is specialising in treating these conditions with the aid of administering Botulinum toxin injections.

A referral from your General Practitioner or Specialist is required to see Dr. Collingwood. He sees WorkCover and TAC patients.

All appointments attract a Medicare rebate, though the amount will vary depending on whether an intervention qualifies for reimbursement through the PBS or MBS.
