Greg is an Australian trained Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician. His expertise is in the diagnosis and management of sports injuries and musculoskeletal injuries.
Having worked in Emergency Medicine for many years, Greg gained his Fellowship of the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians in 2008. Over a 20-year career in Sports Medicine, he has been the Race Doctor for the Cycling Road National Championships in Ballarat for 7 years and is the Chief Medical Officer for the Australian National Motocross and Supercross Championships. He was the marathon and race walking team doctor for Athletics Australia at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games and team doctor for the 2022 Athletics World Championships in Eugene, Oregon. He is now the Medical Director for the Ballarat Marathon and Running Festival.
He has worked with the Richmond AFL Football Club (2002-2007), the NT Institute of Sport and the Australian Under 23 Cycling squad. He was the Deputy Medical Director for the 2018 Australian Winter Olympic Team, and Medical Director of the 2018 Alice Springs Masters’ Games.
Dr Greg Harris is a strong believer in providing elite sports and musculoskeletal medicine to the local community and maintaining close links with other local health professionals for the benefit of his patients, both young and old. This includes working with our surgeons to determine when an operation may or may not be the best treatment for your problem.
