    Dr Marta Safavi has now commenced an Australian Sport & Exercise Physician (SIMG) training program with Ballarat Sports Medicine.

    Marta is an experienced Sports Medicine Physician with extensive expertise in managing musculoskeletal and sport-related injuries since 2018. Before moving to Australia, she served as the Iranian national team doctor for the Asian Youth Para Games in 2017 and the Asian Para Games in 2018. In Australia, she has worked as a team doctor for the GWV Rebels and provided match coverage for the Ballarat Miners Basketball team and Ballarat Marathons.

    Marta takes a patient-centred approach to musculoskeletal care, using advanced treatments such as ultrasound-guided injections, visco-supplementation, and PRP injections.

    Her specific areas of interest include:

    • Osteoarthritis and knee injuries.
    • Shoulder pain.
    • Low back pain.
    • Ultrasound-guided injections.
