Dr Greg Harris from Ballarat Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is excited to be heading to the upcoming FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships, in the Sierra Nevada, Spain, from March 6-19, 2017.
Dr Harris is travelling with some of Australia’s elite winter athletes for the pinnacle of the winter sports season. The team includes recently crowned World Cup Champions Britt Cox (Moguls) and Scotty James (Halfpipe) and two other World Cup leading athletes: Danielle Scott (Aerials) and Belle Brockhoff (Snowboard Cross). With another handful of top 5 ranked athletes, and others producing best-ever seasons, the aim is to bring home some great results.
“As Deputy Medical Director for the Australian Winter Olympic Team, it is my privilege to work with our world-class athletes, and with a world-class medical team”, explains Dr Harris.
With just under a year now until the Winter Olympics in Pyeong Chang, South Korea, Dr Harris says the whole team is steadily building towards the campaign. “Our medical network is second to none, and with a year to go we are working non-stop to support our athletes to be at their best.”
