Infection remains a small risk after joint replacement surgery.  One of the sources if from the patients own mouth.

Dental infections, and root canal surgery represent a risk to your knee replacement, and antibiotics may be needed at the time of, or as part of your treatment.  Please print off this advice from the Australian Orthopaedic Association to take to your dentist.
